The Haka Party Incident
The Haka Party Incident has been rescheduled to 30 March - 10 April.
The last New Zealand war took place in Auckland in 1979. It lasted three minutes.
The Haka Party Incident resurrects the eventful day when a group of University of Auckland engineering students rehearsing their annual tradition of a mock haka are confronted by the activist group, He Taua. Violence erupted that sent ripples through the nation and changed race relations in New Zealand forever.
Crafted by filmmaker and theatre director Katie Wolfe, this riveting play combines documentary and stagecraft to thrilling effect. Provocative, resonant and unforgettable – a not-to-be-missed theatre event.

Wheelchair accessible seats are available for all performances of The Haka Party Incident, but $20 wheelchair tickets are only available for this specific performance as part of Auckland Arts Festival's Access programme. For events not in the access programme, wheelchair tickets are at usual prices and bookings should be made directly with ASB Waterfront Theatre or via Ticketmaster.

The Haka Party Incident includes offensive views, some bad language, institutional racism, cultural appropriation and historical examples of how haka and Te Reo Māori were incorrectly used and performed in the past.
